Little Women

 In news

A new season is approaching and we are nearly ready to launch our new collection.

Our major inspiration for FW season comes from one of the bests sources for style innovation as books, and one of our favourite ones with the most inspirational looks, is the beautiful novel Little Women.

Little Women was published by American writer Louisa May Alcott in two volumes from 1868-1869 to immediate and resounding success, despite the doubts surrounding the appeal and premise of the book. A coming-of-age novel about the four March sisters (clearly based on the lives of Alcott and her own sisters), this book goes beyond the fairy-tale world of girl’s book to a story that deals with some more realistic world.

We love the way the independence, intelligence, and spirit of the little women is explained on the book. Most of the scenes are described indoors, in those beautiful XIXth century wooden houses, we can nearly sense the little sisters reading books on the fireplace with their wide skirs, wool pullovers and warm dresses, we can imagine their games and laughts, smelling the cookies on the kitchen,  we can also sense the chilly American northeast, winter days, pale lights and smiling faces looking accross the windows while snow is falling down. There is something about the description of places both familiar that we have tried to capture with this poetic and free-of-spirit collection.

Our particular view of Little Women collection is about classic pieces, as skirts, coats and dresses with lots of Liberty in blue, ochre and red tones, but it will also have some new and warm knitwear wool pieces and romantic cotton lavandière blouses. A warm collection, innocent, poetic and timeless for all little women at home. Follow our IG feed for some more inspiration.
