While visiting Menorca de past week we had the opportunity to meet the people behind the best avarca sandals ever; Ria.
Who is behind Ria
For those you don’t know, the avarca are the typical footwear of the Island Menorca. This traditiona sandal has becomed into a fashion product for children and adult. As they are confortable, stylish and traditionally hand made. Personally we particularly find this sandals the best choice for children on summer season.
Carlos Truyol Serra, the second generation of the family, followed his father’s steps and now runs the Ria family company after some years working side by side to learn the shoemaking trade. We had the opportunity to meet him and he showed the amazing children collection they have available for next season and also how these famous sandals are traditionally made in their factory. We love the golden, silver and classic ones and also the ones featured with special paintings. Have a look!
Ria Factory is located in Ferreries, if you go to Menorca you can have a well deserved visit to their shop and factory.
