Such cute illustrations from Alain Grée
One of my favorites drawers ever is Alain Grée, maybe you might not be familiar with the name but I am pretty sure you might spotted his cute illustrations at some point.
Who is he?
In fact, Alain Grée is one of the most important authors and illustrators of children’s books since the seventies. He made more than 300 works for several editors. In France his work for Pom D’Api series is well-known but as well all over the world.
He has been active as a Graphic designer, creating catalogues, brochures, posters and his lovely, beautiful and colourful illustrations have been influencing young illustrators and artists over the world.
In fact we love his naivety of form and bold use of colour, their charm is undeniable, how he uses color and nice shapes with that vintage flavor drawings, and even if he stopped in the late 70’s (he is now more than 79 years old) his drawings have something timeless and universal.
If you still don’t know who are we talking about here are some of his most representative illustrations plus a lovely video with himself drawing, priceless.
